I can smell December approaching fast now and I’m 8 months into the this 12 month journey. Two thirds of the way through, thats 32 weeks!!! I can’t believe I haven’t caved to be honest and had it all cut off again but I’m loving my longer hair now. I’m constantly thinking about how to wear it as it gets longer.
I don’t blow dry my hair as I’m really not into my hair looking overly ‘done’. I still just spritz it with some Cutthroatpete Texture Spray then add a small amount of Cutthroatpete Klay whilst my hair is damp, scrunch it into place and go which was a god send method when I spent last week in Italy. It was super warm over there and I was worrying my hair would be a pain to keep on top of but it turned out to be easy enough though and it stopped me sunburning my head too which has been something I’ve had to be conscious of for the last few years! The bandana/headband was definitely a good accessory in the heat to keep my hair back out of the way. It’s becoming a bit of a staple piece now and I have actually purchased about 6 more since my last blog post. I’ve bought a few different colours and designs, they are great to throw on when you’re in a rush to get out of the house and your hair is dangling in your face!
Last month I was thinking of maybe putting some highlights through my hair but I’m still on the fence with this one. I like the idea and like how it looks on other people but I’m nervous of going through with it and regretting it! I think it must be my age making me think like this because I’ve always been so carefree when it comes to those types of decisions. Plus, Ive put in so much effort growing it to this length, if it ends up looking rubbish I’d have to shave it all off again.
Now don’t judge me, but I’m definitely thinking about getting a trim this month at some stage. I feel like I just need the ends taking off and a little bit of shape putting into my hair. It can begin to look scraggly when just left to grow so I would advise regular trims to my clients that are growing theres out. It keeps it looking thicker and healthier. Jay, one of my team, enjoys cutting long hair so he can have the job of making me look better!
Someone made a stab at me on social media this week. Just some worthless keyboard warrior/spammer/jealous little boy. He reckons my hair growing blog couldn’t get any more boring!! Well, the great feedback emails and messages I’ve been receiving don’t reflect that but if you would like me to add some more info or pics or hear something more about my hair growing journey just drop me a message and I’ll be more than happy to cover what you want to know in my next one. I feel like theres an opportunity for another blog post there!
