Phew!! I just made it with Mays blog post. Ive been so busy but I’m into my fifth month now and feeling confident!
This month has flown by far too quick. I’ve been crazy busy with work, which is great, but I haven’t had a lot of time to think about my hair. This has been a blessing in disguise though as I’ve gained another months growth and not been worrying every day about how it looks.
Cutthroatpete Texture has been a god send! I literally jump out of the shower in the morning after washing my hair, towel dry it whilst still leaving it slightly damp and add some Cutthroatpete Texture from the roots to the ends and allow it to dry naturally. My hair has a natural wave (which I really like) when it starts to get longer and the Texture spray really shows this off.
As your hair starts to grow longer, it can end up developing a rounder shape, especially if you wear your hair pushed back behind your ears. Also, if you’ve taken my advice and been having a small taper on the neck area and the sideburns, weight will build up above the tapered area, so when your hair starts to get some good length it is a good idea to have this weight removed to create more of a square shape through the back and sides and give your hair an overall better shape.
I was asked to do some filming a few days ago and, as I said, I hadn’t payed a lot of attention to my hair so the day before the filming I got Jay from my Jamaica Street shop to take the smallest ends off the back and sides of my hair and taper my sideburns. Just this slightest trim has made me feel so good and spurred me on to keep growing!
The plan for this month is to start enjoying the length I’m gaining and try wearing my hair in a few different styles to see which I enjoy most. I do enjoy having my fringe pushed back out of my face and as the hair at the back is starting to show its natural wave, I am defining the bits behind my ears using some Cutthroatpete Klay to add a bit of creativeness to the look.
One thing I’m most pleased about now is the fact that my scalp is no longer visible through my hair! As I’ve mentioned before, my hair is fine but theres loads of it. This has meant that up until this month my scalp was showing through my hair and I wasn’t happy with that. Panic over though…. I’m getting there!
After last months hair growing blog post (here), I received loads of messages through my instagram from people saying they are growing their hair out with me. It’s great for me to have this moral support. Keep the messages coming and let me know how you’re getting on!
